Pest Description When to treat Recommended solution
Black Beetle A very shiny, jet black, slow moving beetle about half an inch long, which eats roots and leaves of many plants and bark at the base of shrubs. Its larvae are easily mistaken for grass grub, which is somewhat smaller. Causes dead patches in lawns. Appear in large numbers between February and March. Garden King Grubkil or Chemspray Lawn Grub Killer or Garden King Lawn Grub & Beetle Killer Granules
