Description

Green vegetable bugs are sap sucking insects which attack a wide range of plants including; many ornamental garden plants, pumpkins, capsicums, potatoes, spinach, oranges, peas, passionfruit and even weed species. Nymphs generally feed on the younger flesh parts of plants such as new shoots causing distortion.

The adults take preference to feeding on fruit and seed to rather than feeding on leaves. Fruit and seed that have been affected by green vegetable bug will have a mottled appearance. The nymph stages can vary in colour from yellow, red, green and black. When they reach full maturity the adults are a dark green to black in colour and are approximately 15 mm in length.
